—HELLO—

MEET ABBY

 I’M Abby

Lover of jesus, cats, and anything pink

Thank you for being here! What a blessing it is to call photography my job. God is so good. I look forward to meeting my clients at every session and learning their story so that I can tell a beautiful part of it. I am so thankful to be a part of so many stories, and to have found one of my many passions at such a young age.

MY MISSION:

I want to photograph the REAL moments. I want to create photos you can feel. Photos you can almost live in, because they are of the true moments that happen in every day life. Don’t get me wrong, I love planning and shooting sessions in gorgeous and carefully selected locations at just the perfect time when the sunlight is golden, but I also love the sessions that stay true to you—that document real life moments. Your kids doing their nightly puzzle as you cook dinner and the sun streams through the window. Your babies on the floor at your feet as you flip pancakes before church. You and your honey, dancing in the refrigerator light. The two of you taking that old truck you fixed up together out for a spin. Your yard in June, when the kids are on summer break and the chickens are running free. Someone might be getting chased by a rooster. You’re hanging clothes on the line or tending to your garden. The cows are grazing. Think of your babies and their cousins all together, playing in the creek, jumping on the trampoline, and drinking the hose water. These are the moments that remind me of my own childhood, and that I wish I could look back on. Don’t miss out. Let me document these memories for you and your family.

I want to evoke emotion; to freeze a moment in time so that if you wanted to, you could live in that moment forever.

Probably holding a cat. Or writing. Or jamming to some good music.

I am just a 27 year old gal living in southern Indiana with my sweet husband, Derek. We dated all through high school and always knew we would get married. We’ve now been married for eight years, going on nine! Fun fact: we planned our wedding in five days. That’s right. Five. Derek left for Marine Corps bootcamp right after high school and while he was on his 10-day leave, we decided to get married, because, why wait? Because of this special day, I’m a big advocate for sweet, intimate weddings that aren’t all about the wedding itself, but the marriage it is meant to celebrate. But what can I say, I am also a fan of big, extravagant celebrations.

Photography is only one of the many arts I enjoy. Reading, writing, listening to music, styling outfits, painting…really ANYTHING creative fuels my soul. Most days you can find me cozied up with my 2 cats (Just have to add in that I am a crazy cat lady and am a literal magnet for stray cats. I have rescued so many over the years.) and my dogs, Ollie and Sadie, editing away with some good tunes playing. I also love to listen to instrumentals, Bon Iver, and anything you’d probably find weird. I’m talking banjo, Irish fiddle music, yodeling, cinematic movie soundtracks, old country that your grandpa probably listens to...you name it, I probably know the words. FUN FACT: I am a published author and am currently writing an 8 book, allegorical, epic fantasy series about finding light in the darkness.

One of my favorite Bible verses:

Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
